2017 Grazing in the Field - The French Connection
2017 Grazing in the Field - The French Connection
THE FRENCH CONNECTION
The dinner is taking place on Saturday, September 9th at Philippot Farms - a dairy farm just outside of St. Claude, Manitoba.
The French Connection theme of this year's Grazing in the Field stems from the Philippot's family history. Philippot Farms was established in 1912 by Alexis Philippot who left France at the age of 19 to start a new life in Canada. He followed a wave of French immigrants who had also settled in the St. Claude area.
Today, his grandson Alain Philippot, his wife Michelle and their children have continued to grow the dairy farm and in turn, enjoy a beautiful life thanks to Alexis' vision and perseverance.
The experience kicks off at a central location in Winnipeg, where guests board motor coaches for a scenic ride out to the farm.
Festivities begin with a cocktail “meet and greet” with the farm family, followed by a tour of the dairy barn during milking, before wandering back to the dining tent to experience local food through an exceptional multi-course menu designed by Chef Ben Kramer and his team.
Your ticket price includes transportation to and from the farm, the meal and more! We depart the city at 3:30 p.m. and return around 10:30 p.m.
